II.    Atlases (electronic: offline and online)

1.   Offline resources

The three major Bible software programs all have various map resources in their current versions:

Accordance (vers. 13): the "Accordance Bible Atlas" (vers. 2.2) is included in several of the Primary Collections of Accordance 13; it can also be bought separately. Quite a number of other Bible Atlases are available too, including the excellent The Sacred Bridge (eds. A. F. Rainey and R. S. Notley: see above) and several other Carta publications. Further information here.

BibleWorks (vers. 10): the basic program (no longer on sale since 15 June 2018) includes the "BibleWorks Map Module", the "ESV Concise Bible Atlas" (2012; an abbreviated version of Currid & Barrett 2010 above), and the "NET Bible Maps" (see the Links below). The full version of Currid & Barrett 2010 was formerly available for purchase as an add-on module. For new purchasers of BibleWorks 10 (released in April 2015) the "New Moody Bible Atlas" (see above s.v. Beitzel 2009) was no longer included in the base package, but those who upgraded from BW 9 were still able to use the New Moody Atlas which was included as standard in BW 9.

Logos Bible Software (vers. 9): Logos 9 includes various maps of the biblical world among its standard features (e.g. the Atlas tool [Logos Bible Software Atlas] with Biblical Places Maps and other Media components). Several other stand-alone Atlas products are available as purchasable items (or as part of various Base Packages): the "IVP New Bible Atlas", the "Zondervan Atlas of the Bible" (see above s.v. Rasmussen 2010), the "Holman Bible Atlas" (see above s.v. Brisco 1998), the "New Moody Atlas of the Bible" (see above s.v. Beitzel 2009), "Nelson’s Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts: Old and New Testaments" (rev. ed. 1996), and others. Various atlases and related publications from Carta will be available in Logos soon [as of Nov. 2020].
